Liberals Challenge £2.2million pounds to produce only two extra hostel beds in Green Lane Mens Direct Access

At the recent planning committee Cllr Steve Radford objected to the replacement of a stylised building at 11 Green Lane with a modernist building for a new mens direct hostel at 11 Green Lane. The new hostel would only increase capacity from 21 to 23 beds at a cost of £2.2m

Steve Radford suggested that the curent building be sold and a significantly larger building with extra capacity be built on a new site.

He also expressed concern a hostel for vulnerable men right by two junior schools was not the most appropriate location

The planning committee at Steve Radford's request have agreed to undertake a site visit before any decision
