Rubbish skipped in big clean-up

TONNES of rubble and rubbish has been thrown in skips in a clean-up in a district of Liverpool.
Tuebrook’s Respect Week saw 70 tonnes loaded into skips, doubling last year’s total.
About 80 young families were attracted to a job fair in the district, and about 3,000 ultra-violet pens have been handed out to beat burglars.
Local councillor Steve Radford is now celebrating the award of a further £2,500 grant, which will mean almost half the Tuebrook ward will be covered.
About 500 light timers have also been delivered to help holidaymakers keep burglars guessing.
